According to Motherboard, a US authorities have now incarcerated Hutchins though it isn’t transparent on what charges. When contacted by a publication, a US Marshals orator pronounced that “this was an FBI arrest” and that “Mr. Hutchins is not in U.S. Marshals custody”.

Spokesperson for a US Department of Justice has pronounced that Hutchins was arrested for “his purpose in formulating and distributing a Kronos banking Trojan,” between Jul 2014 and Jul 2015. Kronos malware was designed to take banking credentials.

“Defendant MARCUS HUTCHINS combined a Kronos malware,” a complaint (shared below) claims. The complaint alleges that a confidence researcher advertised Kronos on internet forums and sole a malware. The complaint also mentions an “overt act” taken by a Hutchins and a second suspect by formulating a video explaining how Kronos works.

The complaint alleges that on Apr 29, 2015, a defendants sole and advertised a Kronos malware on a AlphaBay dim web marketplace that was recently taken down by a law coercion agencies. In one instance, a complaint claims, a defendants sole Kronos for $2,000 in digital currency.
