Modder Tries To Create A First-Person 8-Bit Zelda Game Inside DOOM Engine

The Legend of Zelda array has taken some engaging new stairs in new years – Breath of a Wild was an wholly opposite take on a franchise’s common setup – yet one thing we wouldn’t design to see is a first-person adventure. And generally not a first-person journey with NES-style graphics.

As it so happens, though, that is accurately what one modder – going by a name Exkodius – has set out to create. As they state on a project’s Moddb page, “the plan began as a stupid suspicion while me and my crony were personification Zelda on a good ol’ NES. We suspicion it would be unequivocally cold if we could run around in initial chairman and demeanour around Hyrule in all a 8-bit glory”.

Exkodius has been operative on a plan for years, regulating a DOOM engine to reconstruct locations and scenarios from a strange The Legend of Zelda game. As we can see from a images above and below, a whole thing works surprisingly good visually, looking flattering most accurately how you’d design Link’s strange universe to be from his possess perspective.

The modder has given common their work for all to play around with online, mentioning that they’ll never have a time to finish what they started. Exkodius describes a plan as a “testing belligerent with opposite graphics, sound and scripts”, rather than a functioning game, and hopes that others competence find good use for a files and finish it up.

Would we play a Zelda diversion in this style? Do we consider Nintendo will ever make Zelda first-person in a future? Share your thoughts with us in a comments below.
