Today’s NASA Image of a Day is patrician “Watching Meteors From a Space Station.”

Astronaut Ron Garan, Expedition 28 moody engineer, tweeted this picture from a International Space Station in August, 2011 with a following caption: “What a `Shooting Star’ looks like from space, taken yesterday during Perseid Meteor Shower.”

A special camera to record meteor showers will launch to a International Space Station aboard SpaceX’s Dragon load craft, now scheduled to launch on Jun 28, 2015, from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. The Meteor review should be commissioned in a station’s Window Observational Research Facility by a finish of July, enabling scientists to learn some-more about a combination and function of asteroids and comets that cranky paths with Earth. The investigation’s camera is automatic to record famous vital meteor showers during the two-year circuit and could mark unpredicted showers as well.
