Amazon partners with Seraphim on AWS accelerator for space startups

Amazon will shortly be a large partial of a space economy in a form of a Kuiper satellite internet constellation, though here on Earth a ambitions are some-more commonplace: get an accelerator going. They’ve partnered with space-focused VC outfit Seraphim Capital to emanate a four-week module with (among other things) a $100,000 AWS credit for a carrot.

Applications are open now for a AWS Space Accelerator, with a usually requirement that you’re aiming for a space zone and devise to use AWS during some point. Ten field will be accepted; we have until Apr 21 to apply.

The module sounds sincerely straightforward: a “technical, business, and mentorship” understanding where you’ll expected learn how to use AWS properly, get some good tips from a AWS Partner Network and other space-focused experts on tech, regulations and security, afterwards massage shoulders with some VCs to speak about that turn you’re putting together. (No doubt Seraphim’s group gets initial dibs, though there doesn’t seem to be any despotic equity agreement.)

“Selected startups might accept adult to $100,000 in AWS Activate credit,” a proclamation says, that does sidestep somewhat, though substantially authorised done them put that in.

There are a good volume of space-focused programs out there, though not scarcely adequate to cover direct — there are a lot of space startups! And they mostly face a special plea of being rarely technical, have business in a open zone and need rather a lot of money to get going compared with your normal craving SaaS.

We’ll know some-more about a module once a initial conspirator is announced, expected not for during slightest a month or two.

As launch marketplace matures, space opportunities on a belligerent take off
